A Short Informative YouTube Video

Here is a link to our informative Youtube video, it may help answer some of your questions My Baby Bump 3D 4D on YouTube

What is 2D Ultrasound?

2D ultrasound is the traditional diagnostic ultrasound that has been around since 1970’s. It is 2 dimensional, showing height and width in a black & white format.

What is 3D Ultrasound?

3D ultrasound is 3 dimensional, showing height, width & depth, usually shown in a sepia format. At My Baby Bump 3D / 4D we can give you a color option of either pink or blue.

What is 4D Ultrasound?

4D ultrasound is 4 dimensional, showing height, width, depth and now adding motion, usually shown in a sepia format. The image quality is slightly reduced in 4D, since now part of the energy of the probe is used to display movement.

Is this a medical ultrasound? Is it covered by my insurance?

NO to both questions. This is an elective non-medical ultrasound and it is not covered by your insurance. In NO way does this ultrasound take the place of your medical ultrasound or care from your OB physician. This ultrasound is meant as a bonding experience between you and your baby and is for fun & entertainment purposes only.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

That depends on how you want to see your baby. 3D/4D can be done anytime between 10 to 34 weeks. Prior to 10 weeks the baby is just too small and after 34 weeks the baby is too crowded to get a clear view. To see the entire baby in one picture, we recommend under 20 weeks. At 20 weeks and beyond you can see the face and different parts of the body in separate pictures. Please note at 20 weeks your baby only weighs 10-12 ounces, so the 3D/4D face images will be of a skinny baby face. As your baby grows and gains more weight, the 3D/4D pictures become better. The incredible face pictures seen in magazines and TV are usually taken after 26 weeks.

Are you able to determine the baby’s gender?

Yes, as early as 15 weeks, (only if you requested it). However, we cannot guarantee the baby will cooperate during your session. It all depends on baby’s age and position. If we are unable to determine the baby’s gender, we will have you return at a later date at no charge.

Can I bring family and friends?

ABSOLUTELY! You are welcome to bring as many family members (including siblings) and friends as you would like. This is a wonderful and educational experience that will linger in your memories forever.

Will I get beautiful 3D ultrasound pictures of my baby?

Every baby scans differently. Baby’s position is the number one factor. Next important factor is, the amount of fluid around the face and finally, maternal obesity. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best pictures.
